Yahoo Chats are usually loaded with a plethora of Bots. How on earth can a multibillion dollar company such as Yahoo be so weak in terms of its security?

Yahoo, is sadly only as weak as the people who create the chat programs / message boards. Yahoo's objectives are more to do with there search engine and money making services like btyahoo than to monitor chat rooms and kick bots. Although there are certain moderaters put in place by yahoo although rare to seem them on the chat boards & chat rooms.

Thanks for the reply. It is surprising Yahoo underperforms in the prevention area as these bots do leave them open to a great deal of liability

Given that they also have a vulnerability that allows worms through their web based email, it doesn't surprise me. I am saddened at how lax they are overall.

Yes, although on the other hand yahoo is known by the majority and due to the amount of users i suppose alot of people target there systems to infect users. I hope yahoo get's its act together soon aswell.

I agree, you would think a company with that much money would be able to employ capable people and give them the resources needed to stop it.

I think the average internet user isn't aware of this at all and that's how it's grown out of control with little demand for higher standards.

Yea, that's probably not their biggest goal they probably don't feel like paying someone to manage it and plus they think they should work on stuff that is making them millions than something that gives them nothing back in return.

Bots will be bots. In other words, no matter who you are or what you do there will be a bot created to 'attack' you in some measure. Yahoo is no different. I do not chat, but from what I did see they need a lot of human intervention too.
