So now that Windows 7 is officially out, what are everyone's thoughts about it?

Okay a quick run down for you on Windows 7!

Windows Setup is a lot more efficient, it runs without hardly more than one prompt during the entire installation.
I have installed it on multiple machines and on each machine it has installed all the hardware without needing a driver CD this includes a laptop.
However an internet connection may be required as it downloads drivers directly for products that it does not contain drivers for.

Once the setup is near completion it tests the systems hardware to set the windows settings accordingly to get the best performance and reliability.
It loads 3-4x faster on bootup than Vista and likewise for shutting down. Windows 7 is a lot more eye pleasing than any previous OS.
It's easy to view what applications are open and hover over them in the task bar to bring up the application screen without the need to minimize etc.
It maintains itself a lot better than any previous OS in the sense that it just works!

More responsive when using multiple applications.
Fast startup and shutdown.
Drivers? What Drivers? (internet connection required).
Self repairing similar to vista but no CD required.
More eye pleasing.
Lower resource usage.

What was that you were saying about the drivers? Is windows 7 able to connect to the internet and automatically select the correct driver for you?

In my view Wind 7 is an extension of Vista. It consumes less physical memory when compared with Vista and supports almost all drives just like Vista. The only thing is that unlike Vista it has so far has no major bugs.

It's what Vista should *so* have been. Ie, not sucky.
Faster, hopefully prettier, without the MASSIVE HD consumption, I'm hoping. If it lives up to that, I might, just might, upgrade my Vista onto it.

Exactly, you just put the cable in and Windows 7 is catching the connection and finding the correct drivers for you.

Of course you need your box (how do they call it?) to get into the internet, but the building network, setting IP and DNS stuff is all done by Windows 7 automatically.

Are accurate is it in finding the drivers? What you're saying sounds great but in the past I've heard that this or that is easy, just get the driver, but then the computer finds 3 or 4 different drivers for you to select from. Is that the case here, or is Win7 really that smart that I'm out of the loop?

If Windows 7 automatically selects the correct driver that would be great. I don't know how many times I've been asked to select a driver and have chosen the wrong one.
