I am considering to start a blog about something which enables me to easily update it on a regular basis. What I can think now is a blog about tips. I believe this kind of blog will never lack of content. I know it's not new. There are many existing websites and blogs about tips. Anyway, what do you think?

Before I would decide on the topic, I would ask, what exactly is the purpose of the blog? Do you want it as a primary site? Or do you want it to drive traffic somewhere else? What is its function?

It sounds to me like from the OP that its an informational site geared right at blog owners, which makes sense as there are bajillions of bloggers out there not counting how many new ones are starting up each day. I see no issues with it.

I'm unsure what kind of tips we are talking about here. If the tip about blogging, as what smogger has said, is the idea we are talking about then I would say that it is an excellent subject.

I would suggest one tip, please try to make the subject more specific.

As you didn't specify what kind of tips you want to blog about, I would assume that it's about general tips. It's a good idea. Yes there are tons of websites and blogs offering tips, but this kind of content is always highly demanded. You will never lack of visitors provided that it's done and promoted well.

I would disagree with you Windgrass. I like the idea of giving general tips but I don't think that it will get the traffic that you wanted. You see being more specific on the subject will bring in people that would like to know about that specific topic. Now if the blog is about general things then it will get random users.

Yes, I agree with JamesB. There are tons of personal and general blogs published on the net, and many of them are updated regularly. But, as they cover anything (instead of a specific niche/topic), those blogs end up being visited by their owners only.

Not to be negative, but if you want to write a blog about tips on blogging, you'll be facing some really stiff competition. There are a lot of sites out there on how to blog, how to monetize your blog, etc. But if that's the way you want to go, good luck.
