Topic review - Best Free Spyware?
Author Message
Post subject:  Re: Best Free Spyware?  Reply with quote
Well you can use super anti spyware and spybot which seemed to be best anti spyware programs I had used so far. Super anti spyware can really find harmful spyware codes which others anti spyware programs can't do. However both super anti spyware and spybot in my view are quite the same.

Adaware is on my computer and yeah it does take away adadware but not spyware. I Wish it did because for this software to be free, it is pretty good.

adaware will not remove viruses. It wasn't designed to, it is not an anti virus software. It is an adware removal tool, and that's all.

gilipse adaware picks up your cookies and list's these as spyware parasites i believe. Don't get me wrong it does work but when theres software out there like Spybot Search and Destroy that eliminates and prevents the majority of the threats without hassle i think your best trying different spyware removal software than adaware. ;)

Adaware seems to clean up all my viruses but sometimes I think I question what it really does because I sometimes find that I still have stuff on my computer.

It certainly wouldn't hurt to make a note to check for updates at least once a month, and do a full system scan at the same time. Just don't do this at the same time as your regularly scheduled virus scan, or your machine will be like treacle for a while.

i'd say run it once every 2 weeks to be honest it really depends on how often you crawl through webpages and download things from the web. To be honest though search and destroy has the immunize function that prevents the majority of spyware and adaware getting on your computer in the first place. Please excuse my spelling ;). Once you have installed search and destroy or S&D i would not worry to much about being infected again really as long as you have made sure you have the protection settings enabled within the program.

I was impressed with search & destroy on my desktop, which reminds me that I have yet to download it to my laptop.

By the way, how often would you recommend running it?

i havn't personally used adaware in years , havn't needed to windows vista appears to prevent the majority of adware and spyware although i was very suprised to see quite a few spyware pieces of software on my computer when i ran spybot search and destroy :( it did remove all the spyware though. :)

I still don't think adware is a good program. It's not good at what it does eithers. But that's my opinion.

Adaware is good at what it is supposed to do. But what it is supposed to do is very limited-only removing ad ware programs-those which deliver unwanted advertising to your PC. Not spyware, nor anything else.

I don't like Adware. It's not a great program like it was when it first came out years ago. Now I like Spybot S&D and Microsoft Defender. I also think using SpywareBlaster is a good idea. But remember everyone is different.
