Simple your system is slow because of many things. Like startup run programs , background programs , running tasks. In 1st step you have to make it lite with removing startup tasks. Go to run and type msconfig.Go to startup tab and remove the program who you don't want to run in startup like messenger, your cam software etc...

In vista use the taskbar icon bottom right ;) allows you to block startup programs etc as the above msconfig no longer works in vista.

Yeh I have purchased Windows Vista Premium OEM although on the other hand you could use a copy of Windows Vista DELL OEM if you had a dell laptop as there preactivated. Same with HP , Toshiba etc they all have preactivated copy's that are installed from the manufacturers and updates are 100% available.

Not that I condone piracy

Well basically, the manufacturers distribute laptops to the retailers with operating systems preinstalled which have information built in them to allow them to be pre-activated on arrival so that customers do not have to worry about activating there operating systems or bothering manufacturers tech support departments.

This is the norm when buying a laptop from a retailer, there normally already activated from the warehouse.

So yes all's you need is the manufacturers Vista activation files and you can more or less activate any version of windows vista you have installed as long as the manufacturers activation files relate to your model of laptop / desktop. Again updates are 100% available.

I do not condone this though, and yes its josh posting as guest. :D

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the quick posting Josh. Sorry that I wasn't here. I'm kinda busy with my family. Anyway about your answer, My friend told me that in some Vista DVD's they patch it and make ISO and sale in market. In simple word its a pirated thing.(Iam not talk about Microsoft) Because when my friend install after this in other system. He got the same message (Windows Activated) What can you say about it ?

Msconfig does work in Vista,

Click Start Orb > type "msconfig" in the search programs box > Press Enter > MSCONFIG loads

Yes its work fine with me also. Also there are so many things common in vista what already in XP. Like to open dos with cmd etc.. I think its same like XP but microsoft make it more customize and easy. I try it, in start its feels me like go off and xp is best but after that i like it.

Interesting problem, sounds like some of your applications are taking a while to stop. I would suggest changing the app kill timeout setting you can google it but something else to try is;

Start Registry Editor and navigate to the following key:

[HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management]

Set ClearPageFileAtShutdown value to 0

Or, using Group Policy Editor [for Windows XP Professional]

Click Start, Run and type Secpol.msc
Click Local Policies | Security Options
In the right-pane, set Shutdown: Clear virtual memory pagefile to Disabled

This should allow the shutdown process to speed up considerably.
