I turned on today to find that my Firefox has updated to the latest beta as I have always signed up for the test releases. But other than with FF I wouldn't do it-I don't trust most things.

How do you feel, will you go for whatever is newest, or are you more cautious?

I use Google Chrome and it also has push updates. Some people find it annoying, but personally, I find that there are some software that simply are more secure when automatically updated. Stuff like antivirus, for example. For non-critical things, however, then yeah, push updates aren't necessary and is definitely an annoyance.

I like betas, I like seeing how software changes as it updates; the amazing new stuff developers have packaged, first. I normally do all critical stuff on a tested browser, like internet banking, but other stuff like casual browsing, beta is good for me =]

It is better to use new software because you may find new applications in that. But before you move you should see whether it has any benefits than the previous one or not. Newly updated software have many benefits than the previous one. It is not true in all the cases. So, its better that you first see whether it has any extra benefits than the previous one and then obviously you can switch on to that.
