What is considered a fast computer these days? They used to gauge it by gigahertz but that stopped around 3.2ghz right?

As i think fast computer mean to the speed of the computer
its downloading speed and the
Software installing speed.
You can get it for your computer by increasing the RAM size.

you can judge any computer as fast based on the RAM capacity. you can make your computer fast by increasing the capacity of the RAM. if you increase the capacity of RAM then the downloading speed will also get increased. so, it's better to increase the capacity of RAM.

People's perception of fast computer varies. Some stick with their chip sets, frequency values or RAM memory space. In my view whichever system that works perfectly when used by multiple programs is a fast computer.

The specs are a little blurred now, because computers with lower specs are just using their power better.. like the MBP has weedy specs compared to a Windows machine but it outperforms them with ease; etc.
Best bet is to try out actual computer speed tests, the kind run by pcpro or similar.

How fast your computer goes depends on the size of the processor and how much RAM it has. A fast computer by todays standard would have a dual core processor and at least 3 gigs of RAM.
