Due the the rapid increase in technology, is it even a wise choice for someone to have dial up internet?

No way would I go back to dial up connection, but I do miss the sound of the modem while connecting to the internet.

In my opinion, you will just be losing more money if you have a low internet connection.

There are times when it is not a choice that is easy to make. Some people live in remote areas where that is their only choice, others are on a tight budget. Each person is different remember and we all come with our own stories.

I agree with smogger. Not everyone has the means to choose a fast internet service. There are people who likes to have fast internet but the budget and limited service will deny them from getting a fast internet connection.

Not anymore. It is really a pain to deal with the low speed of the dial up connection. Unfortunately, like the others said, there are many internet users still using it as their only option of internet connection. It is an important thing to consider when you are designing a website.

Currently I am using ADSL connection which is quite fast and reliable for me. I have a friend who still use Dial up connection though her place is within my ISP's covered areas. She opted it as she doesn't use internet that much.

I use a cable modem, but there are parts of the country where I live where high speed internet isn't available yet. It's either go with wireless or dial-up.
