Last night a mouse or mice peed on my CRT screen! The pee leaked through the cooling vent I guess. The screen doesn't work properly now. It displays a distorted view with several lines on the viewing area. Do you think I can get it repaired or I need a new screen?

Yikes! How do you know it's pee? I would think you would want to just replace it, because the smell of warmed-up pee, even in a repaired screen, just can't be that pleasant!

I agree that it would be best to just replace the unit. Do you have are known rodent problem? If so you may wish to see to that before replacing and risking another.

Time to get a new monitor. If you brought in the monitor to me and told me mouse pee ruined your monitor, I'm not sure I'd want to touch it. LOL

Well you know, I've seen some photos of some pretty awful things that have been taken in to repair shops. This has included computer towers with dead mice draped across graphics cards and cotton ball spiders nests!

Well you know (or you don't?), if a mouse pees, it doesn't just pee. Yikes! I don't want to talk about it anymore. Thanks for your advice guys. I replaced it with an LCD screen. It's much better and more comfortable for my eyes now. :)

Good call, greenstone. Although I have been wondering while reading this thread, did you actually see the mouse or mice pee on your screen? Bye, bye mices.
