Saving Battery Power

Have you ever run out of battery power on your laptop during a meeting or a class? Have you worried about running out of power while waiting to meet with a client? What are some strategies do you use to save battery power?

Yea often. It is when it is not charged for along time. I also want to know how to save battery power?

hmmm..battery lifetime is really an issue with regards to laptop. my idea is to detach the battery when not in use, and just put it back when you will be using it..what do you think?

To improve battery performance in the Macbook line first calibrate the battery (run the battery down completely past the warning splash screen) then recharge fully. When you are ready to watch your DVD, make sure to quit all applications, be sure to also turn off the Airport wireless and bluetooth as well. Additionally, make sure the computer screen brightness is turned down to the lowest level you can comfortable see (this is one of the largest drains). You can also set your System Prefs Energy Saver settings to optimized battery to help as well.

Not yet. I always keep power adapter with me. There are some softwares which claim to double your battery power but they slow down your PC.

The battery power in your laptop depends on the type of laptop that you have and the among of applications you are running on it. Once you are running your laptop on battery power alone, you must ensure that only the application that you want to use is open.

Battery power really depends on the settings that your set to manage it, as well as the programs and stuff you are doing on it (whether it is something battery intensive or not). Also after a couple of years, laptop batteries tend to lose the original power they can contain. My laptop battery usually lasts me about 2 1/2 to 3 hours, but I would usually bring the adapter along as well (just in case).
